      why simple sugars and not complex carbs in drink to replenish yourself?

      Post-workout, your muscles are like a dry sponge. They need to soak up amino acids (protein) and replenish their glycogen stores (sugar). Whey protein and simple sugars are the fastest combination of protein and sugar you can get to the muscles.
