When we train hard, we breakdown our muscles. Muscles need nutrients fast in order to build back stronger for next time. This “repair” needs to take place no later than 20 minutes after the workout session. A huge sense of urgency should be felt when you rack the bar after your last set. why simple sugars and not complex carbs in drink to replenish yourself?

Post-workout, your muscles are like a dry sponge. They need to soak up amino acids (protein) and replenish their glycogen stores (sugar). Whey protein and simple sugars are the fastest combination of protein and sugar you can get to the muscles.
